A new board member should meet the following conditions:
a. Connection to motorsport (motocross)
b. If possible, speak two or more languages, although Dutch, German and English can also be spoken at board meetings.
English is currently the language used during the IMBA Congress.
The new member should have a sufficient command of English to be able to carry out the necessary written translations. (There are now also translation programmes available for PCs.)
c. Relatively close by, living in the border triangle of Germany/Belgium/the Netherlands.
d. (However, there are now also opportunities to hold online meetings.)
e. A maximum of two people from the same country are desired on the board.
f. This is to avoid one country becoming too dominant.
g. Reflects the trust of all countries.
h. The member does not have to be active on the board, in sports management or otherwise in the respective national association. (Without pressure from their national association!)
i. A neutral position is very important.
j. For our dynamic sport, we are therefore looking for people between the ages of 30 and 45-50.
k. The board holds approximately 2-4 board meetings per year (as needed).
l. The congress takes place every year on the first or second weekend in November. All IMBA members of the board participate in the congress. They may also bring their partner.
m. Visits to the various European Championship events are divided among the members of the board (approximately 4–5 per year for each person).
n. In the meantime, contact is made by email, so a PC would be important!
