If you look at the number of participants in recent years, they have steadily decreased and in the classes of MX2, MX Open even so much so that the two classes combined do not even result in a starting field of c. 35 starters. Why is that? Surely one reason is that motocross is a very expensive sport and the trips to the IMBA events with petrol costs, etc. are quite a burden. But it also seems that riders in the amateur sector prefer to spend a few training sessions in Spain and Italy during the winter (which is also very costly) or they prefer to spend a few training sessions on a motocross track near their home country.
The IMBA calendar includes, in addition to the European Ladies Championship with 3 races in the Netherlands, Belgium and France, a ‘Masters of Nations’ in Belgium. All drivers from Europe are invited to the Masters of Nations again. This weekend, drivers young and old should have fun together in the individual categories. Make friends and celebrate success together. There will be a special invitation to the individual events with registration. Drivers who do not have a licence from an IMBA-affiliated association may also participate in accordance with the invitation.
The IMBA can only continue on its successful path if drivers take advantage of this opportunity to compare themselves internationally in the amateur sector. Without drivers, there will soon be no more IMBA events and without events..... well then.......
